Honeymoon

We are going to Hawaii on our Honeymoon. We will be staying at The Kona Village.

Kona Village lies within the site of an ancient Hawaiian fishing village on 82 private acres at Kahuwai Bay along the Big Island’s Kohala Coast. The resort is home to 125 thatched-roof bungalows called hale (ha-lay). Nestled around lush lagoons and pristine white and black sand beaches, guests enjoy vacation fun from water sports (snorkeling, diving, kayaking, deep sea fishing and more) to cultural and historical exploration within resort grounds.

I am really Excited! Can you picture us in our own little hale!

A week away

I can not believe that I will be getting married in a week. I have check the local weather and scattered showers are possible. So let's all think positive!

When it Rains it Pours

Tornado Warnings, a Fire, and a Flash Flood all took place during my two showers last week. All I can say is there is never a dull moment! Despite the weather everyone had a nice time.

30 Days Away

It is only 30 days away
Until our Big Day.
I hope that everyone will be there
I already know what I am going to wear.
May 24th is the date
I hope that Frankie will not be late!

Shower

My first shower was on March 30th. The teachers at my school hosted the shower for me and two other teachers that will be getting married this summer. I got a lot of things off our registry. I feel so blessed. Here is a picture from the shower. They designed our wedding gowns for us. It was a lot of fun. We had great time!

The Mitchell Manor

The new house is located in Woodland Creek. This neighborhood is absolutely beautiful. It has a lodge (club house) with a gym and swimming pool. There is also a tot lot (playground), butterfly garden, and a bark park for MacKenzie.
We started moving into our new home last week. The house is on a corner lot and has a great open floor plan. The move is going to take a while since we are not going to be getting married for 2 more months. I can not wait to have everyone over for dinner!

Music

Frankie and I have selected the Three N' Easy Jazz band to play at our reception. It is a Jazz trio with piano, saxophone, and drum. This will be great background music as we drink and dine on delicious food. Sorry there will be no first dance unless the music really moves us!

The Invitations are Here!

Our wedding invitations like us are not the traditional style. These invitations have an elegant black scroll pattern with the graceful look of an antique iron gate accented by a pretty shade of lime and a black border. The scroll pattern on the invitation is going to be incorporated on the wedding cake. I could not believe how perfect these invitations were. When I saw them in the store I almost cried. Finally I found a company that shared my vision. They are beautiful! I have always wanted a black and white wedding and adding a touch of lime green gives a whimsical feel. I have also ordered stickers and thank you cards.

Where are we registered at?

Frankie and I are now registered at Four places.

Celebration Dinner

We will not have a rehearsal until Sunday. So we will be having a "Celebration Dinner" on Saturday night. This will be a great time to let loose with family and friends.

Take a short walk down a charming cobblestone street then walk through a lovely canopy of trees and you will find The J.Clyde. The restaurant is located in the historic Five Points in Birmingham, Al. We will be dining outside in the garden shaded by trees. Guests can choose to eat an amazing Pasta dish or Grilled Tilapia. What is to drink? Well The J.Clyde has over 77 beers on tap. Frankie did a great job choosing this unique restaurant.

Bridesmaid Dress

The bridesmaid dresses have been chosen. The little black dress comes from JCrew. I give all the credit to Lyndsey she found the dress online. It is a popular silhouette, in floaty silk chiffon with a delicate crinkled texture. Shirring at front bust. Overlap detail at front and back, with shoulder pleats. Empire waist. Fully lined and falls just below knee. This dress has some of the same characteristics as mine. The ladies are going to look lovely. The best part is that they really can wear it again.
